He will be more joy in heaven. And more for us to look forward to when we walk through that gate. He is why I am a clamper and why I appreciate it. He made it fun. He always asked how I was, and how I am doing. If I was out of line , he would be Stern with me and correct me like a father. He had a big wonderful heart. He was so generous. What a wonderful man. I would not want to have missed him for the world. He truly enriched my life. He was always a pleasure. He is, was, and will always be a great clamper. He is, and will always be APA. I am so proud and grateful to have known him. I truly found him to be a fine example what a man should be. And in many ways what a clamper should be. I have always been glad to be in his Gathering. And was always so happy to be in his happening. Thank you God” -Tim Elston

Gone to the Golden Hills:
May 31st, 2020

It is without grief, because of years of suffering, that my cousin and Clamper Brother, Patrick Miller Robertson, will suffer no more and has headed out to the gold fields to dig and prosper with Billy Holcomb. He’s now smoking, drinking, eating bad shit without worry, and running big iron without permission from Operating Engineers Local 12 with his big brother Bill “Pop” Samson. Patrick was candle lighted into our chapter in 2008. His wife is one of Jack “Dragnuts” Webb’s daughters. He was 81.

Rick’s been a Holcomb Clamper for 16 or 17 years.  Lived in Crestline, long time Harley rider. He was a truck driver for most of his life.  His long time Widder is Kim Herington. Her dad was a Clamper and he passed just last October so she’s lost both her dad and her longtime partner over the last 6 months. Rick was killed in a one car auto accident in the San Bernardino Mountains on Highway 18 on Thursday April 30. I do not have any other details. Rick was about 54, 55 years of age.

I believe Bill became a member of the De la Guerra y Pacheco chapter in or about 1995. As long as he was physically able, he enjoyed participating many events with both chapters, though in the last few years he was only able to attend the local chapter’s dinners.
